USU, Europe’s largest vendor of IT and Knowledge Management Software, contracted NextSales to be their authorized reseller for the Benelux in 2019. On December 20, USU extended this Sales Outsourcing agreement.

USU is recognized by analysts like Forrester as leader in Enterprise Service Management. Leading companies in all sectors of the international economy use USU applications. USU’s solutions let medium and large organizations create transparency, develop new services, cut costs and reduce risk.

USU’s suite of solutions includes IT- and Enterprise Service Management, Software Asset Management, Monitoring, Big Data, Customer First and Knowledge Management. NextSales positions USU as the European alternative for ServiceNow.

USU was founded in 1977 as Udo Strehl Unternehmensberatung and has been offering ITSM solutions for over 25 years. We’ve launched a Dutch landing page for Innovaway: an Italian IT company, specialized in the remote support of IT users. Of course there are many competitors, but Innovaway distinguishes itself from the others in a number of ways:

Support is available in 27 mother tongue languages (so not only in English or something that remotely resembles English)
Service is flexible, scalable (e.g. only during certain shifts, seasonal peaks, for specific languages or for short periods of time)
Smaller companies with more than 200 employees spread over different countries can make use of Innovaway’s services (price enquiry)
Innovaway’s investments in training its employees have resulted in a low turnover rate (less than 3%). This ensures continuity in the quality of service to customers.

Global Service Desk

The Innovaway service desk acts as a single point of contact for resolving disruptions worldwide. For example, for retail organizations that often have a limited number of IT devices per shop. Think of checkout and payment systems, displays and in-store devices for online shopping. A malfunction in that equipment immediately has an enormous impact on the customer experience and revenue. Innovaway acquires Olisistem Start

Innovaway specialises in providing flexible, scalable Remote Support Services in 27 languages. On 24 January the agreement confirming the acquisition was signed at the headquarters of Olisistem Start in Settimo Torinese.

Olisistem Start is a company that provides IT Service Management services focussing on the banking and financial sector.

Part of this acquisition is a 5-year agreement with the largest Italian bank, Banca Intesa San Paolo. In addition to a significant increase in turnover, this acquisition means that Innovaway will become the largest player in the European market for Remote Support Services.

The acquisition of Olisistem Start by Innovaway involves approximately 350 people.

Strengthening Innovaway's position

This acquisition strengthens Innovaway’s position in the banking and insurance segment. In addition, the agreement with Banca Intesa San Paolo provides a strong foundation for further growth in the future.

Innovaway has a solid contract base with major Italian and international companies.

Innovaway and NextSales

Innovaway is an IT Service Management company that distinguishes itself by providing these flexible, scalable services in 27 languages.

The combination of high quality of service and flexibility and scalability has given Innovaway a strong market position. Retrospective round table Global IT Support Services

B2B Event - Retrospective Global IT Support Services

On Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November NextSales organized two round table meetings for our client Innovaway. The theme: “Global IT Support Services”. The round table format was chosen to allow as much interaction as possible with and between the participants.

IT department representatives from large and small businesses were able to listen to and discuss how users worldwide can be supported both remote and local in their own language. Specially important in the event of system failures. Thanks to innovations within the partnership between Innovaway and Fujitsu GPMO.

Paolo Volpicelli, International Business Development at Innovaway, acted as day chair and moderator.

Opening by the Italian Ambassador

The opening of the round table was performed by the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Netherlands, Mr Andrea Perugini, who welcomed the guests to his residence in The Hague.

Despite his busy schedule these days due to his role as chairman of the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) Mr. Perugini managed to make time available to open the round tables sessions and to be present during lunch and dinner.

In addition to a number of interesting facts about the history of his residence, Mr. Perugini also highlighted the important role played by the Netherlands as a gateway to the world. As examples, among other things, the Port of Rotterdam, the international institutions in The Hague and the TEFAF in Maastricht were mentioned.

Global Support Services

Francesca Toriello, Customer & Program Manager of Innovaway discussed the way in which Innovaway interprets the service desk as a single point of contact for solving disruptions worldwide.

As an example, we discussed retail organizations that often have a limited number of devices available per location, but whose failure can have a huge impact on the customer experience and turnover. For example: non-functioning cash register, payment systems, displays or in-store devices for customers to shop online.

Of course, Innovaway can also offer this support in other industries.

Customer experiences with Global Support Services

Andrea Lanati, Indirect Procurement Manager discussed his experiences with Global IT Support Services at KIKO Milano.

KIKO came from an IT support agreement with 1 main contractor and 5 different suppliers. This resulted in non-transparent costs, long service times and dissatisfied users.

In the new situation, Innovaway is the single point of contact and delivers in cooperation with Fujitsu GPMO worldwide IT Support. From KIKO’s point of view, this has greatly improved the speed and quality of service (and therefore user satisfaction), while the costs have become lower and predictable. As an example it was mentioned that adding a new support language in the old situation would require months of preparation (and the associated costs). In the new situation this was almost plug and play.

Partnering in Global Support Services

Serge Van Branden, Global Deployment Director of Fujitsu GPMO first explained the services provided by Fujitsu GPMO. This service aimes at companies up to a size of several tens of thousands of employees. Next, the collaboration with Innovaway, as set up within KIKO Milano, was discussed. Innovaway is the single point of contact and its service desk solves as many tickets as possible remotely. For on-site support, Fujitsu GPMO will, where appropriate, activate its own local organisation or call on other local parties. In the cooperation with Innovaway this means, for example, that within Italy Innovaway can be one of those other parties.

In addition to the presentation, Serge gave an insight into the automated way in which Fujitsu GPMO follows a huge number of service desk tickets through a short demo. The system checks whether the right steps for solving a ticket are taken and whether the agreed SLA remains feasible. As soon as the system signals that there is a risk that the agreements will not be met, an escalation takes place.

B2B Event - Retrospective: Agile IT Service Management

On Wednesday 13 November we organized two round table meetings for our client USU with the theme “Agile IT Service Management”. The round table model was chosen to allow as much interaction as possible with and between the participants.

Representatives of IT departments from large and small companies were able to listen to and discuss the improved effectiveness and efficiency of IT through Agile thinking and acting within the Operations side of the DevOps model.

The opening was carried out by Stefan Habitzreuther, Managing Director of USU who gave a brief introduction to the USU Group.

ITIL® 4 makes IT Service Management more flexible

Markus Bause, CEO of the consulting and training organization Serview gave the attendees an insight into the changes within the Best Practices framework ITIL® , enabling its connection with developments such as IT4IT, Agile, DevOps and Lean.

This change was necessary because in day to day operations IT development departments make extensive use of Agile, DevOps and Lean, however there is still a gap in the connection with IT operations.

Where the development department is under pressure to quickly modify or build new applications or Apps, the operations department is under pressure to make IT work with minimal risk and at the lowest achievable cost.

Agile Request Management for Cloud Services

Matthias Vianden, Director (IT, Development, and Operation) of USU company Aspera gave an example regarding the application of Agile techniques when concluding software license agreements with companies.

The example showed how an Agile approach to the conclusion of Office365 agreements can provide effective savings and greater flexibility.

Of course, Aspera can also help you save on Salesforce, Oracle and SAP SaaS agreements.

Cloud Infrastructure Automation support for DevOps teams

Martin Landis, Business Unit Manager Product Marketing of USU addressed the tension between development and operations in a DevOps team. Development tries to realize desired changes as quickly as possible, while minimizing disruption to Operations.

In today’s Cloud environments, so much can be automated that disruptions can be avoided or minimazed. During development, for example, the desired environment can be requested, set up and made available automatically via a service request. The USU products Valuemation and Leutek can be used for this purpose.

Agile Service Management logistic service provider

In conclusion, the experiences of logistics service provider Hamburg Süd were discussed. The company has achieved a shift from products to services within its organization.

Although tools have naturally supported this shift, the role of a “sponsor” from the management proved crucial.

We look back on two successful round tables. The guests had the opportunity to get to know USU and each other in an interactive way.
